PCI EXPANSION SYSTEMS
Introduction:
We are pleased to introduce the Expansion chassis which gives you scalability in terms of number of PCI slots to be added on to your server. Please note that what we are offering is not an industrial server. It is an Expansion Chassis. It is a dumb box which simply gets attached to your server and gives you scalability / expandability in terms of PCI / PCIe slots. The classic example here is that of a station wagon. The engine remains the same. What we give you is the trailer. This way, you are able to carry more load with one engine.
In the real world, all branded servers come with very limited number of PCI slots i.e. either 2 or 3 slots max. So if you have to install say 12 boards, then you would need 4 servers (if we consider 3 PCI slots in the branded server)
We have these Chassis’s in 5 variants – 2, 4, 6, 7 and 13 slots. We also have options for with and without Redundant Power Supply (RPS). We can also offer with Hot Swappable fans. The 4 and 7 slots chassis are very basic one with the option of with and without RPS. For the 13 slot chassis, we also have the Military grade chassis which is NEBS compliant and has the Pro-Surveillance™ remote monitoring capabilities.
FYI, the Expansion chassis came in to the lime light due to the cost factor only. Dialogic and Ai-Logix solution partners in South east Asia, Americas, Europe, Korea, Australia, Japan have all benefited tremendously due to this expansion chassis since it bought down the solution landed price of the end customer to a great extent.
WHAT YOU SAVE?
A lot. The ROI is anytime between 6 months to a year.

Installation of 12pcs LD2409 (Ai-Logix make 24 port analog boards) for Voice Logging OR
12pcs DMV/1200PCI4E1 (Dialogic make 120 port E1 board) for IVR / OBD application.

So, even after you use a much more powerful machine with more RAM, HDD and faster processor, you still save on the overall cost. Apart from the above, you also save heavily on the OPERATING SYSTEM cost and the SLA cost for the additional servers.
The expansion chassis comes with PCI back plane, Redundant power supply (RPS) and cooling fans (CF). The RPS and CF are hot swap. This even saves a lot of server room space, cooling cost, Electricity cost, etc, etc…
Of course, we do have the IPC’s in the market, but, we personally don’t think they are a solution for Telecom applications. cPCI based IPC’s are a different story all together. Brands like IBM, DELL, HP manufacture servers by the thousands per month compared to IPC manufacturers who make maybe a few thousand servers over a period of one year. The components manufacturers have a separate quality control for these brands due to their large volumes but IPC manufacturers have to buy the components like RAM, HDD, etc from the local market. These components which are available in the local market are sub standard due to the low pricing the markets have to offer.
We generally suggest the customers to go for branded servers and attach the expansion chassis. By doing this, you get the quality of a branded server as well as scalability. Another reason also to suggest branded server is because most of the large companies, have a 24x7x4 SLA in place with these brands due to the large business volume they have. This way, the ultimate customer is also tension free with respect to the after sales for the server; and so is the solution provider / system integrator. |

P13RR-TEL is a premium chassis – has redundant 400W power supply, ruggedized enclosure, The Surveillance Pro 2 remote monitoring system adds the ability to remotely monitor the status of the P13RR-TEL through a build-in web server and ethernet connection. Surveillance Pro 2 monitors the power supply, fans, and chassis temperature, alerting you of any problems by sounding an audible alarm, sending an email, and displaying a message on the digital display on the front monitor. For convenience, the system can also be monitored remotely from an internet browser allowing you to retrieve the information that is displayed on the LCD of the chassis in near real time without leaving your desk.
